So today I finished work slightly earlier than I have these last couple of weeks and even though I thought I’d take an afternoon to do some reading, maybe some sketching … I ended up not doing any of that. As appealing as the idea of sitting and sketching in my sun-soaked living room was, I felt absolutely fried.
I was too uninspired to be creative, yet too restless from the desk-sitting and laptop-clicking. So I ended up doing some much-needed cleaning and decluttering (in a small section of the house, but it still counts)! I’ve had a pile of papers just screaming to be organised for months, amongst other things, and it felt so relieving to get these sorted. Why am I sharing this? Because I want to write, but cannot think of anything to write about. I wish I could sit here and share the beginnings of a new and exciting story with a brave protagonist and their furry dot-eyed friend alas I’ve got none of that cooking up in the old noggin’ for today.
Now instead of saving this post to drafts and not letting it EVER see the light of the *share now* button, I’m sharing it, and ignoring the fact that I’ve put so many things on the Pending section of my to-do-list, but heck it’s 11.26pm, I am weirdly invested in A Failure to Launch so I think it’s fine if I do.
All in all, I think I’ve written this post mostly to update you lovely people of the Stack that even though it may seem like I’ve disappeared off the face of the earth, there’s some exciting things cooking up at Gee HQ and I will be sharing them soon!
While I have you here, I wanted to thank you for always supporting me and my work. Oh! Before I forget, I do have an exciting bit of information to share with you! I am now part of the Children’s Book North community!
Over and out for tonight! But I’ll leave you with an illustration I created a few weeks ago while I was confined to my bed for a week, with a wrecked back (I guess that’s all it takes to get inspired hah!) Anywho - meet Una and her birds!
