Happy New Year! My inboxes and socials are bursting with New year, new me's and resolutions, but Iβm here to tell you, that although I have plans for the year, Iβve hopped on the New year, same me, calm start train - if 2024 has taught me anything, itβs to plan realistically, appreciate the small things and spend more time outdoors to wind down.
My intention this year is to broaden the platforms I share my work on, to provide you with content other than the occasional images on Instagram. Iβm fighting the impostor in my head, starting slowly and seeing where it takes me.
Iβve decided to give my Substack some more attention this year and have upgraded my tiers. I will be posting more frequently as part of my mission to make my work more accessible to you on different platforms. I have introduced a Paid tier for Β£5 monthly or Β£50 yearly. I will still be sending out my Quarterly Newsletter and some shorter-form updates to my Free Subscribers so fret not! The Paid Tier is aimed at providing more value and personal time for paid subscribers, which will include:
Subscriber-only posts that include long-form content of behind-the-scenes looks at illustration work, new products, stories, stories and more stories in the Storees section!
Early sneak peeks at new illustration work and book projects (where possible).
Access to the chat where you can ask me questions about illustration, my work, process and projects.
Special offers and discounts on my online shop.
Iβd also love to organise subscriber-only giveaways and monthly rewards in the future which Iβll be working on setting up.
I am so excited to get back to my studio, to get things organised and start sharing some work with you! Iβve set some exciting goals to tackle, both personally and professionally, all listed haphazardly in my Notion to-do list, but Iβve every intention of getting my chaotic self sorted.
Hereβs to 2025!
Hiya! If you're new to my stack. I'm Fran, I'm an illustrator and picture book maker living in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Here, I share news and updates on my work, behind-the-scenes content as well as insight into my journey in the magical world of childrenβs publishing and illustration β¨ Hope you'll join our lovely community, I am looking forward to getting to know you!
